Boreas, the winged Greek-Tracian
Lord
of the violent north wind, is on this
yellow-ground anointing vessel. Still today
the north wind will blow in the Aegean region
Sea as Boreas.
Hand-painted replica in original size, about 550 BC, exhibit of the Athens National Archaeological Museum.
A seal on the handle bears the inscription "MUSEUM COPY", on the back "HAND MADE IN GREECE".
