Kantharos is an ancient Greek cup-like drinking vessel
with two loops, usually attached to the lip, which are pulled up, vertical and wide looped. The vessel is closely connected with the worship of the god Dionysus, whose attribute is also the Kantharos. Often on Kantharoi warlike or, as here, sporting (horse) competitions were presented.
The hand-painted replica represents a reduction. Original dated 550 BC
