A Tanagra with Doric chiton, a gown,
worn over both shoulders as a sign of free citizenship. On the back a crossed Maschalister is to be recognized. In order to tame the width of the chiton - especially during strong movement - the Greeks used a backpack-like band, called Maschalister, which crossed the width of the garment around the shoulder girdle.
On the head, the Tanagra statuette carries a hood attached with a ribbon.
Replica corresponds in size and material - terracotta - to the original.
