The Corinthian Hydria takes over
in the genus of Greek vases. Otherwise, with two horizontal and one vertical handle between the lip and the shoulder, which is offset at an angle, it is provided with a moulded spout and protruding beyond the latter with a handle.
The Corinthian vases with their yellow background and the surrounding, uniform motifs are reminiscent of the period of the geometrical era, 1,000 - 700 BC.
This Hydria (Greek "water vessel") was reproduced as a replica in reduced size. The original is dated 550 BC. A seal on the handle bears the inscription "MUSEUM COPY", reverse side "HAND MADE IN GREECE".
