An Amphora
Greek "double-girder" is a bifurcated, bulbous vessel, usually made of clay (with or without painting), also made of metal (bronze, silver, gold), wood or glass for storing and transporting olive oil, wine, also southern fruits, honey, milk, cereals, etc., but also made of metal (bronze, silver, gold).
Depending on the content, the volume varies, with capacities ranging from 5 to 50 litres. They were often thrown away as disposable containers after transport. In the case of liquid contents, sealing was carried out with a wax or resin plug.
The replica was reduced in size and reproduced from the sea. It has a height of 23 cm (amphora 16 cm only), including the brass base. A seal on the handle bears the inscription "MUSEUM COPY", reverse side "HAND MADE IN GREECE".
